Find the 65 mm Dial 911 HIC shim at la Cabane de la Glisse!

HIC compression is mounted with an oversized handlebar, which has an inner diameter of about 32 mm. A standard threadless fork steerer tube is 1-1/8", or 28.6 mm: there is therefore a gap between the two. The HIC shim is the split metal tube that exactly fills this gap.

Without it, the handlebar is not centered on the fork, it wobbles, and the clamp tightening does not hold. It is a part that is subject to wear and frequent breakage: it is replaced when it becomes oval-shaped, when changing handlebars, or when getting an HIC fork sold without a shim.

The 65 mm is the standard length, the one originally provided in most HIC kits. It is suitable for the vast majority of setups.
